I devoured this within hours of receiving. I have been aware of the inherent racism I have grown up and grown older with and am guilty of being too passive about. This insight has shocked me to the core at how we have treated and continue to treat people of colour in our communities. This is a beautifully told story of the life of a woman who doesn’t accuse or preach, despite having every reason to. Every white person should read this if they have any sense of fairness or justice. I remember thinking ‘all lives matter don’t they?’ at the beginning of the BLM movement, and soon recoiling at that thought following the backlash and this has helped me understand why. We all have a responsibility to understand how we have all got to where we are today and Sabrina’s story is a wonderful insight.
